HOUSTON Chinese Crested and Teacup Chihuahua Rescue Mission
Update: All the Cresteds have found homes, but read their story.
Several months ago Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary was contacted by a Houston backyard puppy mill requesting help to place hundreds of her dogs. The excuse given was that she had become ill and could no longer take care of the animals in her care. The pictures below are animals that are completely unsocial due to commune living without human contact. The owner has cooperated with Noah's Ark and has turned over MANY van loads of animals. The truth be known that she has only culled her un-adoptable or "not profitable" breeding stock to our shelter. She has kept all animals that she believes that will produce puppies that will make a profit. The animals turned over to our shelter were blind, had deformed knees, broken bones, mange infested and completely feral. Noah's Ark is diligently working to spay/neuter these animals and hopefully put this backyard breeder out of business.
Hairless Puppies that need a LOT of TLC!
This
picture shows literally thousands of the blackheads on this poor dogs body.
Chinese Crested's skin is very similar to the skin on a human's face.
Their skin needs to be kept clean, exfoliated and protected from the sun to
prevent sunburn.
Hairless dogs actually require a LOT of upkeep.
This cutie pie will surely find a home soon
This is a Teacup Chihuahua / Chinese Powder Puff mix.
The following pictures were taken of the dogs in their crates upon confiscation.
This Chihuahua is blind in one eye due to an untreated injury. The other clings to the crate - too terrified to be touched.
(Left) These Chihuahua's also need socialization.
Please come out to the shelter to help us get these little ones used to human
touch.
Two hairless Chinese Crested and one Powder Puff. (Right) All
of the Powder Puff Crested's have to be shaved because they are severely matted
down to the skin. The dogs pictured are clinging to the back of their
carrier to be as far away as they can from human contact.
A Hairless Chinese Crested pictured here with one of our devoted volunteers. Thank you Elizabeth for all you do for the animals living at Noah's Ark.
Please help Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary pay for the medical expenses for these unfortunate dogs.
